Tomas Andres Olvera Hale is a robotics system engineer, who received a M.S. in Robotics in 2023 from University of California, Riverside and a B.S. in Computer Engineering from CETYS Tijuana, Mexico. Starting as an intern at JPL in Engineering Operations for the Perseverance Rover under the Mechanisms team, doing spacecraft assessment and tool development. His robotics background and interests include embedded electronics, low-level programming, navigation, and perception systems. His master research focused on agricultural robotics, devising innovative methods to evaluate agricultural fields using mobile robots, manipulators, and perception systems. Tomas has contributed to numerous university projects and competitions in robotics, pico-satellites, and rocketry. Furthermore, he is passionate about teaching STEM to younger generations, coordinating community events for underrepresented populations, and instructing students in robotics at various educational levels in Mexico, ranging from elementary schools to universities.
